MANDZUKIC OUT FOR THREE WEEKS WITH THIGH INJURY
The Croatia international will miss the
forthcoming games in Serie A and the
Champions League due to a thigh injury
Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is facing
three weeks on the sidelines due to a torn thigh
The Croatia international was substituted during
the closing stages of Sunday's 2-0 Serie A win
at Genoa and tests revealed he has suffered a
grade-one tear of his right femoral bicep
according to the club's official website, which
says the forward will be absent for 20 days.
Mandzukic will miss Wednesday night's league
match against Frosinone and this weekend's
trip to Napoli.
The 29-year-old was on target when Juve beat
Manchester City 2-1 in the Champions League
last week, but he will miss their next outing in
the competition against Sevilla.
Juventus host Bologna before the October round
of international fixtures, where Mandzukic will
also be considered a doubt for his country's
Euro 2016 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Malta.
Bianoconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri has a
striker shortage on his hands at the Bianconeri,
with Alvaro Morata having also sustained an
injury at Genoa.
The Spain international departed during the first
half due to an abdominal muscle complaint that
is being assessed by the clubâ€™s medical staff,
making him a major doubt for the Frosinone
