Biden, others to lead American delegation to Buhari’s inauguration

THE United States (U.S.) President Barack Obama has announced members of the presidential delegation to attend the inauguration of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria today.

In a press release, Obama announced six-member presidential delegates to include U.S. Vice President, Joe Biden, who will lead the delegation; U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, James F. Entwistle; Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield; Commander, U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), Gen. David M. Rodriguez; Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, National Security Council, Grant T. Harris and NBA legend and Olympic gold medallist, Mr. Hakeem Olajuwon.

While Mr. Biden would represent President Obama, the United Kingdom (UK) Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond, would represent Prime Minister David Cameron. U.S. Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry, may likely be among the delegates.
